Ourense will be the first Galician city (located in Northwest corner of Spain) to have 100% electric buses in its urban public transport service. A total of 25 brand new buses (15 diesel and 10 electric), will start circulating in the city in Spring this year. These new buses will provide the latest technologies currently available in the sector. From driving assistance and pedestrian detection to a maximum of accessibility. The UNVI eC22 electric buses also have the latest battery technology as well as the most efficient engines in the market, reducing the carbon footprint, and ensuring zero emissions during service and increased comfort for passengers, as well as for the rest of the citizens due to the absence of noise and smoke. Ourense is committed to a more sustainable mobility.
These electric buses are subsidised by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, thanks to the NextGenerationEU programme of the European Union of which Spain has translated into the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
