Overview

Some buses do not conform to just transporting people from one place to another. They also discover worlds and cultures along the way. Buses like the URBIS 2.5 DD Open Top, a double decker designed for gazing at and enjoying the main attractions in any city, sitting on the upper deck in the open air, even if there is not much time available. That’s why at UNVI we have manufactured this model based on the simple hop on hop off system, so different sites around a city can be visited, with a continuous route and stops fixed beforehand where tourists can climb on or off whenever they want. Available with the steering wheel on the left or right and in various sizes, 10.7, 12, 13 or more than 14 metres long, with two or three axles and 3.99 to 4.2 metres in height. The URBIS Open Top also offers a version aimed at reducing the emission of pollutant gases. It is without a doubt the ideal bus to take on urban tourism.

The URBIS Open Top has a very comprehensive catalogue of dimensions. This relates to both the diversity of designs available, the number of seats it can carry and mechanical solutions that can be applied through our collaboration with companies such as MAN Truck & Bus, Volvo Buses, Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner.

Solutions

An open air deck is always a big advantage, never a problem. Even when the bus travels in rainy, cold or very hot areas. The weather does not stop pleasure being taken from an interesting and pleasant journey. At UNVI we work with our customers to create a viable solution for the URBIS Open Top, whatever the city, country or continent for which it is intended. This model can thus incorporate a built-in, transparent upper roof, a manual or electric retractable awning at the back of the bus, windows, which are also electric, that can be raised and lowered, detachable windows, sliding windows and an air conditioning or heating system in the upper area.

Safety

Again, we go beyond what is legally required for road safety. At UNVI we do not stick to the regulations; we expand the requirements and guarantees of our vehicles for a completely safe, relaxed trip. We have also calculated a centre of gravity that is lower than specified in current regulations for the URBIS Open Top structure. With this improvement we have been able to provide this model with greater stability when travelling on the road.

Passenger Saloon

The passenger area of the URBIS Open Top double decker is light and airy, creating an open and comfortable space, with different levels and types of seats, as well as information equipment for passengers, depending on each customer’s specific needs. But in addition to comfort, the service provided by this model requires the passenger flow between decks to be smooth and safe. To do this, we have designed this bus with two wide and comfortable stairways, a front door and another central door available in different widths. Travelling on board a tourist bus must also be synonymous with excellent visibility. In the URBIS Open Top we have minimised the presence of components so that nothing interferes with the passenger’s field of vision and so that they can take pictures during the trip without leaving their seat.

Driver Area

The URBIS Open Top double decker allows those who drive it to have a great view of the road and has other features that facilitate control of the bus, built into a simple and intuitive instrument panel where the controls can be seen at first glance. The driver’s seat is separated from the passenger area and faces the front access door. A handy glove compartment allows the driver’s personal belongings and other items to be stored.
